I've been madly attacking my #dystopiafic
over the last couple weeks, because it went screwy and I had to rip it back considerably and do all the retcons so I could continue. I'm getting close to the end, and I've been good and I've been working on it every day, but today, well, I made biscuits instead.
. I probably need a couple days break from it, but I'm always afraid of taking breaks, because they have a tendency to stretch and then time is wasted (and I can't afford to waste time on this, holy shit I'm already like a month behind where I wanted to be by now). But I'm gonna. Monday, I think, I'll dive back into it.
I am a little afraid of being distracted. I'm getting that feeling like I want to start something new, something less wholesome
than the thing I'm currently doing. But my thoughts on that are still a little vague. I wish I was capable of churning out short pwp's or something but every time I attempt that, it turns into an epic, and that's not something I can risk.
I think I need some kind of challenge, with, like, really strict wordcounts. I made some stuff I was really proud of way back in Teen Wolf fandom when I did the Mating Games - 750 word max - and we did one a week for like 6 weeks. I don't think I want anything so restrictive time-wise, I mean, I can't sign my life away for 6 weeks, but like, if there was something where I could claim a thing, and then have
to do the thing within a short space of time... Yeah, I need something like that.
Unfortunately kink memes rarely fill that gap for me. The prompts hardly ever appeal to me and it takes so much time to crawl through them. Why kink memes never adopted AO3 with all the handy dandy tagging and stuff I'll never know. Right now I would kill for the familiarity of AO3 tagging + some fucked up prompts.
