Some stuff about the whole two-way follow of Hubzilla
So, basically if someone wants to follow you and get your posts in their stream then you have to follow them back. Which is awkward, because just say you're an uber awesome fanwork creator and everyone wants to hear about your stuff as you make it? If you 'follow' them all back, then you're stuck dealing with affinity sliders and filters every time you view your stream so you don't drown in the firehose and stuff OR you just don't follow them back and there's a bunch of people with your avi+red-not-followed-back-circle on their profile AND they don't get to see your stuff :(
There's an alternative, yay!
The page you're taken to after you accept someone's connection request has some dropdown options on it. One of those is Individual Permissions
. Click that and you get this:
Change the Permission Role
dropdown to 'follower', then scroll all the way past the checkboxes, and hit submit.
And you're done! Your follower can see your posts, but theirs will not appear in your stream!
(and as far as I know, there's no awkward 'why aren't they following me back ' issues)
